Just a short note from Kelly Hathorn...

"Our session with Misty was far beyond our expectations! Additionally, our portraits are truly a piece of art! It was our first experience outside of a studio, and the setting Misty suggested was perfect for our young children. Misty was able to capture the moments and expressions we missed. The portraits literally tell a story of our time spent in Azalea Park that day; from the moment we arrived all primped and ready to go, to the second we walked away. Misty's eye for beautiful art has created for us cherished memories of a fun filled afternoon in the park. It was wonderful for our children to actually enjoy getting portraits done in an environment they love, rather than forcing them to smile in a stiff pose. I love to look at our walls adorned with portraits and just remember the day and how our family just had fun...while Misty brilliantly snapped away and captured it all."

Azalea Park is one of the most beautiful places to photograph in! I absolutely love it. It is a perfect setting for young families and the Hathorn family and I had a fantastic time together! Logan, the youngest of the boys, was of course a little leery of me at first. A new strange person coming to play, what else could I expect? But within a few minutes he was able to warm up a bit and was running around chasing his older brother, Colin, and of course making mom and dad chase him around too.

Colin was such a character and was not lacking in energy in any way. He loved playing peek-a-boo by the large trees and I don't believe we had a single image of him actually standing still...as it should be with any 3 year old boy!

At the end of the session, everyone was laughing, running around and just having fun. But I have to say my favorite moment happened at the very end of the session when Logan and Colin both ran across the little white bridge, straight into mom's arms. Moments like these you can't pose, can't force and can't predict. I am so thrilled I was able to be a part of that very special moment.
