portrait storyBefore I tell you of the wonderful day I spent with Evan and Will, a few words from their mom, Tammy.

"I remember being nervous for our first appointment with Misty. This was my first photo session with the two boys together and I wanted them to be picture perfect. Misty quietly walked in and calmly unpacked her camera. Both innately shy, Evan and Will didn't feel intimidated by her and warmed up to her immediately. I was relieved and started to relax a bit. I wanted pictures of the boys being playful, laughing, being natural. I made our bed up in white sheets and threw tons of white pillows on it. As the boys played, Misty snapped pictures, laughing along with them. I sat back and enjoyed watching my children. Next, we came back downstairs and Misty suggested the sunroom. My normally timid Evan, couldn't stop smiling for the camera and my potentially outgoing one decided he wanted nothing to do with having his picture taken. I kept apologizing, but Misty didn't seem to mind as she continued to focus on Evan as we shared stories about our children. She managed to sneak in a picture or two of Will when he wasn't expecting it. To change the pace again, Misty led us into my backyard and let the boys explore.

This picture captures a wonderful moment of time in our lives. Evan is 4 years older than Will and I'm sure Evan may have helped Will fall over. When Evan looks at this picture he can't help but devilishly smile. Give Willey 1 more year and the outcome will certainly be different: I see them both on their backs, tackling each other down. I'm so happy that I have this moment saved forever.

Nearly two hours had past and Misty packed up her camera. As I walked her to the door I was disheartened. I told her that I didn't think we got a good picture of the both of them together. She told me that the session went well and I might be pleasantly surprised. She was absolutely right. I cried at the viewing of my pictures. My boys were beautiful and when I thought there was no way she could have gotten a good picture of them together...she did."

I remember walking into Tammy and David's home and the first thing that came into my head, was wow look at all this natural light! A beautiful home and even more beautiful were the kiddo's that came right up to me to say hi. We started off upstairs in mom and dad's room jumping on the bed. How cool is mom!!! They were jumping all over each other, Evan knocking Will over, Will pulling Evan down. It was absolute fun! After the jumping seemed to settle down, I just had to pull them into the room off the kitchen that was done in white furniture and had all that beautiful window light splashing into it. Evan immediately hammed it up by posing for me on the couch while Will settled into reading all of his little books and offering them to me at the same time. Sweeter boys can't possibly exist!

We decided to take a step outside the backdoor and let the boys play together outside. After Will tried to eat every fallen leaf in the yard, Tammy and I put the boys together in the grass for one final photograph together and wouldn't you know it, poor little Will fell right over and as any good big brother would do, Evan became full of laughter to see his little brother with his feet flying high in the air! What a perfect day I had with these adorable little guys!
